As already known, the newspaper industry at those days is under extreme pressure. Only newspapers that constantly reinvent themselves in terms of processes and technologies are the ones to prosper economically. As owners of El Nuevo Día, the largest and most important newspaper on the Island, GFR Media has always been at the forefront of modernization.

Heiko Ritscher (Head of Sales international manroland Goss Group) states: “Our solution of controls upgrades in GFR Media‘s COLORLINER and HEADLINER presses helps to face several challenges for the future of the newspaper such as:  overcome obsolescence issues, increase  flexibility and efficiency of production planning, increase in technical availability of the presses and  provide automated pre-adjustment possibilities. New manroland Goss controls paired with our own state of the art, InlineRegister Control System are an important factor to secure highest print quality, press reliability and availability, which every customer should consider. This is a perfect example of our focus to be a solutions provider to our customers. The partnership between GFR Media and the manroland Goss Group has always been strong and this project further strengthen our path down the road of innovation.”

Eng. Mariette Sanchez (Head of Production) adds: “GFR Media strongly believes in the important advantages of such a retrofit, which helps to reduce breakdown risks as well as operating costs. The plant is preparing itself to become completely modernized and equipped with the latest technology.”

Miguel Patiño (Plant Manager at GFR Media) highlights the importance of this project: “Once again, GFR Media demonstrates its commitment with the printed platform. These upgrades are essential to assure our presses’ run ability and be able to keep delivering a printed product with the quality that our customers deserve.”  In summary, if the printing technology is to be preserved and efficiency is to be increased, a retrofit by the reliable OEM business partner, such as the manroland Goss Group seems to be exactly the right choice.
